Possessive Billionaire Driver Page 2

Her eyes become cloudy. “Yeah, I have a few friends back home, but we’ve fallen out of touch since I moved to New York. As for Sara, things are complicated. She’s not my real sister, and we don’t get along. I was horrible to her, and we only see each other a few times a year. I didn’t even go to her wedding. I didn’t want to ruin her day with my presence.” She laughs, but I can sense that she’s sad again.

I reach over and grab her hand. She closes her eyes for a second. “Why don’t you two get along?” I ask her. She tries to get up, but I don’t let her. “I’m not letting go of your hand, so you better start talking.”

“A boy,” she whispers. Her voice is pained. “My mom and dad got divorced and my mom married Sara’s father. He’s great. He loves my mom, and he treated me well. After they got married, my father got sick, so I went and stayed with him for a while.”

She starts crying, but for some reason I think she needs to tell this story, so I don’t let her stop. “Baby, tell me everything. You need to get it all out,” I tell her.

She looks at me and smiles. “Baby?”

“Yeah, you’re my baby now,” I say and kiss her. I reluctantly stop kissing her so she can finish her story.

She takes a deep breath, and I squeeze her hand. “Before going away, I had been secretly dating this boy for about six months. After my father died, I moved back in with my mother, only to find out that Sara had started dating my boyfriend. In her defense, she didn’t know I was dating him, but she knew I had a crush on him and did it anyway. When I confronted him, he told me he needed to think about his future, that he wanted to go into politics and his family wouldn’t approve of me. I was so heartbroken about my father that I blamed Sara for everything, even my father’s death. I treated her horribly after that and started dating him after they broke up. I realize now that he never loved me. Anyway, after my accident, I went into therapy. It helped me deal with a few things. I apologized to Sara for everything, but our relationship is still awkward. Anyway, she’s married and has a kid and a husband that adores her. Like seriously, that man worships the ground she walks on. That’s all,” she says.

I pull her into my arms. “Baby, I’m so sorry!”

She snuggles into my embrace, and I realize we’re like a real couple, talking about our feelings and getting to know each other. Maybe this is not a fling after all. “Is this something you want, Daisy?”

  She frowns. “What?”

“Do you want a man that worships the ground you walk on?”

She shakes her head and laughs softly. “That man doesn’t exist, Damon. We can’t be all so lucky. Anyway, I don’t want to have a relationship. I want to concentrate on my career. I’m not good at this stuff. I always end up heartbroken.”

  Chapter 6

  Daisy

After my shower, I snuggle in bed with my book when Damon walks in. I’m surprised to see him since he hasn’t come into my bedroom before.

  “Damon? Do you need anything?”

He stares at me and shuffles his feet. “I want to sleep with you,” he says. He’s adorable the way he looks at me like I’m the most delicious treat in the world. “I want to sleep with you, Daisy.”

I raise my eyebrow. “Yes? I’m kind of tired, Damon, since we didn’t sleep last night so…”

He raises his hand. “No, I’m not here for sex, although that would be nice. I want to sleep with you in the same bed, Daisy. Like a couple.”

Annoyance flares inside of me. “We don’t have that kind of relationship, Damon!”

He shrugs. “Sure, whatever. I still want to sleep with you.”

Truth is, since the heating is not working properly it gets cold at night, so I wouldn’t mind sleeping with him. “Fine, you can sleep here. But only because it gets so cold at night!”

He laughs and I watch him coming toward the bed. He’s so handsome and hot it makes my heart hurt. A man like him will never be faithful. He’ll break my heart again. I have seen the way the women at the grocery story looked at him. The bed tilts under his weight when he sits. He leans and he takes me into his arms. “Liar,” he whispers into my ear and kisses me on the neck.

I’m hot and breathless after only one kiss. He releases me and snuggles into bed. His eyes caress me with lusting, invisible heat, and I stare at him while a delicious shudder shoots through me at the thought of all the things he did to me last night.

He raises his eyebrow. “What?” he asks me, all innocent. “You can ask if you want something!” he says, the smug bastard. He knows the effect he has on me, but I’m not going to cave.

“No,” I huff. “I just need to establish a few things, okay. Some ground rules, if we want to make this work.”

He laughs and looks at me amused. “Rules? I like rules,” he says. He leans in until I feel his breath on my skin.

“Do you know why I love rules so much, baby?” he says.

His voice is so seductive, I feel myself getting wet. “No,” I croak.

He gives me a heated look. “Because they are so much fun to break,” he says and leans back on his pillow.

I laugh softly. “Okay, Damon. Just stay on your side of the bed and we should be fine.”

He nods. “Sure, I can do that, if that’s what you want,” he adds.

I snuggle back into bed and turn the light off. “Have you been a driver long?” she asks.

I take a deep breath. Now would be a good time to tell her the truth about my identity, but I don’t want to ruin the progress I made tonight. “I’ll tell her tomorrow,” I promise to myself.

“Not long,” I tell her and technically that’s not a lie.

“Do you like it?” she presses further.

“Sure. I can’t complain. My boss is very sexy,” I joke.

“Have you done this before,” she asks. “I know it’s none of my business,” she quickly adds.

“No, Daisy, you are the only one, I swear. I’m not a saint, but I don’t mix business with pleasure.”

  “Okay, good night Damon.”

I get up in the morning to urgent lips kissing me and touching me everywhere.

I kiss him back and climb on top of him, pleasure pulsing in my veins.

I stroke his cock and feel sexy and powerful when it twitches and pulses in response. Pleasure washes over me, and I give myself into the sensations.

He turns me, and I’m suddenly on my back feeling the cool sheets against my hot skin.

His cock teases my entrance without entering, and I groan in frustration.

“Don’t worry, baby, you’ll get your pleasure,” he says in that raspy voice of his. “You just have to be patient, and I’ll take care of you.”

My nipples are more sensitive than ever before, so I moan when he takes one into his mouth and sucks it.

He pushes my knees up and wedges himself between my thighs, briefly stops, and then pushes inside.

His erection fills me, stripping away every coherent though but my need for him. I rotate my hips in slow circles and he pulls out then plunges all the way in, filling me up. Our bodies shudder in pleasure and we climax together.

I close my eyes, spent. I’m almost asleep when I hear him talk.

“I know it’s early days, but think I love you, my sweet beautiful Daisy,” he says.

  I say nothing.

  Chapter 7

  Damon

I know she heard me when I told her I loved her, but it doesn’t matter that she didn’t say it back. We have all the time in the world, and I will make her fall in love with me, I tell myself before I fall asleep.

The sound of the helicopter wakes me up, and I know I'm in trouble. Daisy won't believe that I didn't want to lie to her. I turn to her side of the bed, but she’s not there.

I sigh deeply and get quickly dressed.

My brother Weston and his wife Sara are already in the living room, each holding a cup of coffee.

They all turn when I enter the room, and Daisy smiles at me. She gets up and walks towards me.

&
nbsp; "Damon, little brother, what the hell are you doing here? We came to save Daisy, but why are you here?" Weston says and looks at me in amazement.

The effect on Daisy is instant. She stops and gives me a look so full of pain that my heart hurts.

  "Daisy, please let me explain."

She takes a deep breath. "There is nothing to explain here. You lied. I'm tired of having users in my life, so you are out. Get out of my sight," she says and runs to her room.

I want to follow her and explain my actions, but since the Ice Queen is back, I want to give her some space.

We’ll talk after we pack and she calms down a bit.

But I never get to talk to her because she leaves with Sara, leaving Weston behind.

  ****

I pour orange juice into my glass, and I repeat my question, “How is she, Weston?” Weston jumps from his chair when I “accidentally” pour juice over him just because he doesn’t want to tell me where she is.

It’s childish, I know, but it’s this or punch him in the face ‘til he tells me.

“Damon, I already told you that she left New York about a month ago. You haven’t seen the woman in two months. She doesn’t answer your calls and doesn’t want to see you. Let it be, please,” he says annoyed.

“No,” I say like a petulant child, and he rolls his eyes. “What would you have done if it were Sara?”

That gets his attention because he straightens his spine. “I would go after her. Sara is my woman, so if you feel this strongly about Daisy, you should go after her. I never told you this, but Sara said that Daisy cried the whole way to New York. She was pretty heartbroken.”

“Yeah, she’s a very sensitive girl. Fragile. Delicate.”

Weston raises an eyebrow in disbelief. “Fragile? The evil stepsister. You haven’t seen her in action.”

Fury washes over me. “And you haven’t seen the girl crying in my arms because she lost her sister when she stole her boyfriend.”

  “What,” Weston says frowning.

“Yeah, they were secretly dating. Her parents divorced, her father died soon after, and her boyfriend dumped her. It’s her coping mechanism. Anyway, you get a pass once since you are my brother, but if you ever talk about her like that again I will punch you ‘til you’re bloody. Do you understand?”

He stares at me. “Okay, okay. I apologize. She’s in Italy. Florence. Go get her.”

“Thanks, brother. You’re forgiven,” I tell him and run toward the door.

  ***

It’s a good thing I’m a rich man because it took some time and a lot of money to find her.

She is renting a little apartment near the city center, but I’m not comfortable going there without being invited. My investigator tells me that she likes to go to a little cafe in the afternoon, so this is where I’m waiting her.

My heart skips a beat when she walks in and I realize how much I’ve missed her.

She sits at a table and orders some coffee before I sit at her table.

  “Hello, Daisy!” I say.

“Damon!” she says and nearly jumps out of her chair.

“I’m sorry I scared you,” I say and touch her elbow.

She stares at my hand on her elbow and then into my eyes. “I told you, Damon, there is nothing to talk about. You lied. It’s okay. You wanted to have fun. It’s my fault, really. I didn’t let you talk at the door that day.”

“Daisy, I love you. I’ve missed you like crazy. Please come back to me. I’m sorry I lied to you. It wasn’t intentional. At first I just thought you wanted a ride to the airport, but it all snowballed from there.”

“I love you. I promise to never lie to you again.” I take the box from my pocket and place it on the table. I open it revealing the beautiful diamond inside.

“A ring. You can’t be serious, Damon,” she says, and her eyes get cloudy. “Don’t do this to me, Damon.”

“Haven’t you missed me, Daisy? Haven’t you thought about me even once all these months when we were apart? Answer me, dammit.”

“Of course, I missed you, Damon. What do you want me to say? That I cried every day, that life is not bearable without you.”

“Baby, I love you. Please say yes. We can have a long engagement so we can get to know each other. Just take me back, okay? We’ll go from here!”

“Okay,” she whispers, and the tears she has been struggling to keep at bay are finally winning the battle. “I love you, too. These months have been hell without you.”

I take my ring and put it on her finger and then take her into my arms.

  Epilogue

  Daisy

The flight went without a glitch. I hadn’t really grasped the magnitude of his wealth before boarding his private plane. This was no small plane, with two pilots and two flight attendants ready to satisfy our every whim. There was even a bedroom with a king size bed. I’m little worried about meeting his parents. I don’t think they are going to receive me with open arms. What parents would after I had been dating their son for three months and I already had a ring on my finger?

I remember when I met Mark’s parents. They hadn’t been too thrilled that their son had proposed to me.

I sigh. “Daisy, we’ll land in a couple of minutes,” Damon says and plants a kiss on my lips.

“Tell me about your parents. I want to know more about them.”

“They are good people, Daisy. They are going to treat you well. Don’t worry about it. You really are a worrier.” He smiles and kisses me again.

I knew he was trying to lessen my fears, but it didn’t matter. I didn’t care if they were rude to me, but I didn’t want to upset Damon. I love Damon, but I know how rich parents are.

Damon comes and takes his seat beside me while I buckle my seatbelt.

“I hate landings,” I say. He takes my hand to comfort me, no doubt. “Everything will be all right, Daisy.”

I didn’t want to meet them, but Damon insisted, and I felt bad for saying no to him.

“I need to work for a bit after we arrive, Daisy,” Damon says, and I look at him in panic. He laughs. “I won’t leave you alone with them, okay? We’ll stay inside my bedroom for an hour and you can read or watch a movie while I finish.”

I relax and smile at him. “It’s a good plan, Damon. Just don’t leave me alone with them. Parents hate me,” I joke.

He laughs. “They are going to love you, silly. Not as much as I love you, but you are going to be their favorite daughter-in-law.”

I laugh and slaps him on his knee. “That’s Sara, Damon. Everybody loves her.”

“Everybody loves you, Daisy” he says.

I stare at him. ”That’s not true, Damon, you only want to see the good in me.”

He shakes his head. “Baby, you are good. You are worth loving, okay? Sara loves you. I’m glad you two have a good relationship now.”

“Okay,” I whisper. Sara and I have made real progress in the last couple of months. We both cried after she apologized, then we talked and cried some more, but things are good now. We both try and forget the past.

“I want you to move in with me after we get back to New York, Daisy. I love you, and I don’t want to sleep alone anymore.”

I shake my head. “I love you so much, Damon, it hurts, but I don’t think we should rush into it. I should have waited before saying yes to your marriage proposal. I don’t want you to regret our relationship in a few years.”

Damon nods. “Six months. You can have that time, but after that, you’re moving in. We can have a year long engagement if you want, but I love you. You’re the one. You’re my forever, baby, okay?” he says.

I smile softly. “Okay, baby. You don’t have to go alpha caveman on me,” I add.

He kisses me softly and then shrugs. “I can’t help myself, Daisy. I wasn’t like that before I met you. Truth be told, I don’t think you fully grasp the intensity of my desire for you. I would keep you in my bed all day if I could.”

  I’m shocked by his
admission because I feel the same way about him. “I know,” I say. “I feel the same way about you. It frightens me, sometimes.”

He nods but doesn’t say anything until we land.

I start shaking in the car, my palms sweating. I’m so nervous I could throw up.

Damon frowns. “Baby, we don’t have to go meet them if it terrifies you so much. What did that bastard and his parents do to you, Daisy?”

I shrug. “They always made me feel inferior because I didn’t have money. They preferred Sara, so they always treated me like I was his second choice. It was stupid of me to let them treat me like that.”

“Mark is a bastard, Daisy. He was crazy for letting you go, but I’m ecstatic that he did. I’m still going to break his nose if I ever meet him.

I laugh softly. “My knight in shining armor. You don’t have to do that. He’s capable of having you arrested.”

“It would be worth it. At least you got rid of his snobby parents,” he says, and I laugh.

“Yeah, I’m glad about that. I’m happy to meet your parents Damon. You’re the love of my life, but if they don’t treat me right, I won’t have it.”

He kisses my hand. “Do you trust me, Daisy?” he says.

  I nod. “Of course, Damon.”

“Everything will be fine, baby, okay?”

We make our way through traffic, and Miami seems like a nice city. The car pulls onto a paved driveway surrounded by beautiful palm trees and flower beds.

It’s a beautiful villa surrounded by trees. Two people are waiting near the steps. I assume they are his parents. His mom is wearing a yellow summer dress and his dad shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.

The car stops, and the driver opens our door.

Damon steps out of the car, and his mom goes and hug him. “My beautiful boy, I missed you so much.” She caresses his cheek with her hand. “You look tired, Damon. You work too much; you should take a vacation.”

“He’s going on his honeymoon soon, if that sweet girl is going to marry him.” He winks at me and laughs.

“Hi, I am Damon’s dad. It’s so nice to finally meet you. This little rascal kept you all to himself, but I’m glad you took the time to come and visit us. We like to spend some time here during the summer.” He pulls me into a hug.
